How long does Color Change PPF last?
You can expect a lifespan of 7 to 10 years with proper care. This is significantly longer than a standard vinyl wrap, which typically lasts 3 to 5 years before it starts to fade or crack.
Can I wash it like normal paint?
Yes, but be smart about it. Hand washing is always best. You can use a pressure washer, just don’t get too close to the edges. Avoid automatic car washes with brushes, as they are just generally terrible for any car, film or not.
Does it come in matte finishes?
Absolutely. We offer Color Change PPF in both high-gloss and satin/matte finishes. You can turn your glossy car into a matte gray or a satin black while gaining all the protective benefits.
Is it really indistinguishable from paint?
To the average person standing five feet away? Yes. To a professional with a magnifying glass? Maybe not. Because it is a film, there may be small relief cuts or seams in very complex areas where the film simply cannot stretch, but we do everything possible to hide these. Can you wrap the door jambs?
Yes, but it is a custom request. Wrapping door jambs adds a significant amount of labor (and cost) because we often have to remove the doors to do it properly.
Does it damage the paint when removed?
No. As long as your car has factory original paint, the film will peel off cleanly without pulling up clear coat. If your car has been repainted by a body shop, we can't guarantee the bond of that paint, but that is a risk with any film application.
Can I ceramic coat over it?
Yes, and you should. A ceramic coating adds another layer of hydrophobicity, making the film incredibly easy to clean. It also helps protect the film itself from environmental fallout.
