Exhaust Systems in Columbus, OH

At Strada Motorwerks, we help you unlock the sound and performance your car was actually built to have. We are talking about precision-engineered exhaust systems that refine the tone, increase the volume to an appropriate level, and free up some horsepower in the process.

You Click, We Wrench

How to Get the Parts

We try to make this as painless as possible. Finding the right exhaust system can be a dive into the deep end of the internet, but we streamline it.

The E-Commerce Route

You can buy your exhaust components directly through our e-commerce website. We carry the heavy hitters in the industry. Whether you are looking for a system from IRL, Fabspeed, or IPE, we have access to it. You order the part, it ships to us (or you bring it in), and we handle the installation.

The "I Don't Know What I Want" Route

If you know you want your car to be louder but don't know the difference between a resonator and a muffler, just ask us. We can recommend a setup based on what you drive and how much noise you want to make. We can source the parts for you so you don't end up ordering a system for a hatchback when you drive a sedan.

The "No Custom" Policy

Why We Don't Bend Pipes

We need to be very clear about this up front: We do not offer custom fabrication.

We are not a muffler shop. We don't have a pipe bender, and we aren't going to weld together a franken-exhaust from scrap metal. We only install high-quality, off-the-shelf "bolt-on" systems.

Why? Because engineered systems are better. Companies like Fabspeed and IPE spend millions of dollars on R&D to ensure their pipes flow correctly, fit perfectly, and sound good without creating that headache-inducing drone on the highway. A guy with a welder and a pipe bender in a garage is just guessing. We prefer precision. We install systems that are designed specifically for your vehicle’s chassis and engine, ensuring a perfect fit and a finish that lasts longer than a generic aluminized steel pipe.

The Hardware

What We Actually Install

Upgrading your exhaust isn't just one thing. There are different sections of the car you can change, depending on your goals.

Catback Exhausts

This is the most common upgrade. It replaces everything from the catalytic converter back to the tailpipes.

  • The Goal

Sound and Style. This is where you get 90% of your sound change. It usually includes new mufflers, piping, and better-looking tips. It gives your car a deeper, more aggressive tone without messing with emissions equipment.

Downpipes

The downpipe connects the turbocharger to the rest of the exhaust. Factory downpipes are usually restrictive.

  • The Goal

Power. By replacing this with a high-flow unit, you reduce backpressure on the turbo. This allows the turbo to spool up faster and make more power. Note: This often requires a software tune to keep the car happy.

Midpipes

This is the section in the middle (obviously). It often contains resonators or secondary catalytic converters.

  • The Goal

Volume tuning. Changing the midpipe is often done to fine-tune the volume or remove raspiness from the exhaust note. It’s the seasoning on the steak.

Don't Forget the Intake

Help Your Engine Breathe

Upgrading your intake system offers several key benefits that complement a new exhaust.

Improved Airflow

Your engine is essentially a giant air pump. While an exhaust helps it breathe out, its performance is limited by how much air it can breathe in. Factory air boxes are designed for quiet operation, which often means they restrict airflow. An aftermarket intake opens up these airways, allowing more cool, dense air to enter the engine.

Enhanced Throttle Response

With more air readily available, your engine can respond more quickly to your inputs. This means a snappier, more immediate feel when you press the gas pedal, making the car feel more agile and responsive.

Satisfying Induction Noise

An aftermarket intake adds a satisfying "whoosh" sound when you accelerate. This induction noise perfectly complements the deeper tone of a new exhaust, creating a more complete and engaging auditory experience. It’s the peanut butter to your exhaust's jelly.

No Rattles Allowed

Installation Matters: Trust Strada Motorwerks

Since we only use engineered bolt-on systems, fitment is usually spot on. However, exhaust installation still requires patience. Aligning the tips so they sit perfectly in the bumper cutouts takes time. Ensuring the piping doesn't rub against the chassis or the driveshaft is critical.

We take the time to install it right. We use proper torque specs and ensure all hangers are secure. There is nothing worse than a new exhaust that rattles against the frame every time you go over a bump. We make sure that doesn't happen.

Exhaust Systems FAQ’s

  • Will a new exhaust void my warranty?

Generally, no. A catback exhaust system typically won't void your powertrain warranty because it doesn't change how the engine operates; it just changes the piping after the engine. However, replacing downpipes or removing catalytic converters can cause warranty issues. We always recommend checking with your dealer or understanding the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

  • Will my car have "drone"?

Drone is that annoying, constant humming noise that happens at highway speeds and vibrates your skull. Cheap custom exhausts drone. The high-quality brands we sell engineer their mufflers and resonators specifically to eliminate or minimize drone. You get the volume when you step on it, but quiet cruising when you don't.

  • Do I need a tune after an exhaust install?

For a catback or axle-back system? No. Your car's computer can adjust just fine. For downpipes or major intake changes? Yes, usually. Changing the airflow that drastically often requires a software update to ensure the engine runs safely and you get the most power out of the parts.

  • What is a "Valved" exhaust?

Many modern systems from brands like IPE come with valves. This allows you to push a button to open the valves for "loud mode" or close them for "quiet mode." It’s the perfect solution if you want to have fun on the weekend but don't want to wake up the baby when you pull into the driveway.

  • How long does installation take?

A simple catback or intake install might take 2-3 hours. A full system with downpipes on a complex engine bay could take a full day. We will give you a time estimate when you book.

  • Will my check engine light come on?

With a high-quality catback or intake, no. With aftermarket downpipes, it is possible, as the flow changes can trigger oxygen sensor warnings. This is often resolved with a tune or specific hardware fixes included with the downpipes. We will let you know what to expect based on the parts you choose.
